Update: December 21st Please see the following letter that went home today: PDF icon IEQUpdate.pdf

Dear Parents,

Each school within the Howard County Public School System is required to form an Indoor Environmental Quality Team.  The purpose of this team is to conduct formal walk-throughs of the building to determine if there are any areas of need.  The team works with the systemic Environmental Management Team to conduct the review using a standard checklist that is provided to schools within the system.

The first semester IEQ walk-through took place earlier today.  Members from our school-based IEQ Team as well as representatives from HCPSS building and custodial service departments participated in the process.  During the semi-annual master Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) walk-through today, possible mold growth was noticed in an instructional materials storage closet, a ceiling tile located in the gymnasium/stage area, and a ceiling tile located above the Media Center circulation desk.  HCPSS technicians have been notified and will be responding accordingly.  Please be sure to check the HES website for any updates. All IEQ information, including a list of team members, can be found under the "About Our School" tab at hes.hcpss.org.
